Memory and Experience evolved as a result of several years of working as a teacher observing the mannerisms and interactions of students. Even so, I never really allowed how I felt about the students to permeate my consciousness until I was diagnosed with cancer in 2019. The possibility of not being there permanently, of leaving unfinished business really awakened me to my role as a teacher of young people and all of a sudden they were all so beautiful to me, so innocent, so vibrant, so free. I wanted to capture that.
